How much does a diagnostic scan cost?
The cost depends on your vehicle and the work needed. We provide a written estimate after diagnosis. Diagnostics include manufacturer-level scanning, hands-on testing, and a written report. Can I just get the code read for free?
Auto parts stores offer free code reads, but a trouble code is just a starting point — not a diagnosis. Code P0300 (random misfire) could be caused by spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel injectors, vacuum leaks, or a dozen other issues. A proper diagnosis identifies the actual cause, saving you from replacing parts that aren't broken. Our diagnostic fee is applied toward the repair, so you're not paying extra for accuracy.
How long does a diagnostic take?
Most diagnostic evaluations take 1-2 hours. Complex electrical or intermittent issues may take longer. We'll give you a time estimate when you drop off your vehicle and call you with findings before recommending any repairs.
