How often should I change my oil in South Florida?
In South Florida's heat, we recommend oil changes every 5,000-7,500 miles for most vehicles, or every 6 months — whichever comes first. While some manufacturers advertise 10,000+ mile intervals, those assume'normal' driving conditions. South Florida's heat, humidity, and frequent short trips qualify as'severe' conditions that break down oil faster. European vehicles with long-life oil can go longer, but we still recommend monitoring oil condition.
Does it matter what type of oil I use?
Absolutely. Using the wrong oil weight or specification can cause premature engine wear, reduce fuel economy, and even void your warranty. Modern engines are designed for specific oil viscosities (0W-20, 5W-30, etc.) and specifications (dexos, BMW LL-01, etc.). We always use the exact oil your manufacturer specifies — never a generic substitute.
